This is Azelmo, one of the carpenters in Linga Linga who works with this project.
Azelmo and his colleague have made the doors and windows themselves in the shade of a big cashew tree.
All woodwork in all "Project Vita´s" projects is made from local labor and with local material. The coconut wood is cut down locally and then beautiful work is done by the people in the community.
Now that windows and doors are up, we can start varnish them and start painting the house. By empowering the youth in the community and their skills, we are creating longterm change.
As some obstacles have arisen, we have passed our deadline and we will tell you more about it next week.
But most importantly, soon the nurses can move into their new homes.
We wish you all a nice week!
